Are your bottle BPA free?
Yes. Our plastic caps are made of PP #5 (polypropylene) and are independently tested in Canada for BPA and 6 phthalates.

What is #304 grade stainless steel?
Also known as 18/8 stainless steel, grade #304 contains about 18% chromium and 8% nickel. The nickel content makes the steel corrison and rust resistant as well as non-magnetic. This is a high food quality stainless steel.

Can I put any type of liquid into my bottle?
You can put water, juice, smoothies, etc into the bottle. Juices are acidic in nature and we suggest cleaning out your bottle daily to prevent pitting/rust. We also recomment against filling with hot liquids as our bottles are single walled stainless steel which will conduct heat, and may cause harm when touched.

Can I put my bottle into the freezer?
No. The freezer will cause the water to expand when frozen and will alter the shape of the bottle and may cause leakage and/or cracks.

How do I clean my bottle?
We recommend hand washing with warm water and soap.

Where are your bottles made?
It is not possible to get stainless steel bottles made in North Americal. Our bottles are made in China by an ISO certified manufacturer, and are independently tested in Canada to ensure highest standards in health and safety. We test the exterior paint, interior for heavy metals and leaching, and the plastic caps for BPA and 6 phthalates.

What does carbon neutral mean?
Carbon neutral means that we offset the carbon emissions generated from the making of the stainless steel, the manufacturing and end-to-end shipping of our bottles with carbon credits. We purchase high quality Gold Standard carbon credits which goes towards climate friendly projects. Fill Your Own bottles have zero carbon footprint.

How do you support the environment?
Our stainless steel water bottles help reduce recycling and the dumping of plastic bottles into landfills as well as reduce the longterm carbon emissions from one-time use bottles. We are carbon neutral and run an eco-friendly business using recycled post-consumer paper products for packaging, shipping and administration. We also support local charities and participate in community events and fundraisers. We are members of 1% for the Planet and donate to an environmental cause each year.

Is your company Canadian?
Yes, we are 100% Canadian owned and operated. Our office is located in Burnaby, British Columbia (just outside of Vancouver). Our designers are also local artists.
